To be fair we just don't have the players with any quality and even when we did have the players like the "Golden Generation" we were still mostly pretty poor bar the odd result.

What is frightening though is if you look at West Ham players over the years who either didn't play for England or hardly got a look in. Players like Parkes, Devonshire, Billy Bonds, Alvin Martin, Tony Gale, Cottee, Mark Ward, Pop Robson, Keith Robson, Julian Dicks, and plenty more. Those players had more talent that the current bunch of "superstars"!!!

Stewie hit the nail on the head when he said we have no IDENTITY. The last manager / coach that gave England a semblance of a recognisable style and method of play was spastic-worrier HODDLE, as did EL TEL and his CHRISTMAS TREE.

Since those two we have had a succession of shithouses who have consistently thrown largely the best 11 players irrespective of position or form, into whatever formation is flavour of the day, serving neither the individuals or the team.

Agree with your points mate. But for me it's not just based on the result. I watch England and it's like pulling teeth. It's about as exciting as watching paint dry and as inspiring as a turnip.

Why can't any manager get he England players to play with some flair, creativity and some pace. It's all sideways, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass and then the hot potato comes in and we lose it.

It's fucking turgid.

I didn't say that. You seem to be getting a bit flustered so I'll leave you to it.

At the end of the day, he's not going to play unless we get a fair few injuries so I'd rather he was at home training with West Ham than flying around with England and not playing a single minute.

I'd imagine ANTONIO is behind ANDROS in the pecking order still. Rightly so, in fairness, given ANDROS' performances at international level.

As for LINGARD, if STERLING wasn't fit he wouldn't have been playing. Personally, I think he's toilet - but he's scored the winning goal in the FA Cup Final, and he's a player that SOUTHERS knows well from the u21s, so given he only had 5 days to work with the players, it's not massively surprising he chose someone he's familiar with.

What you're failing to realise Buster is that all we keep doing is playing the same sort of players and the same way which makes it so fucking easy to neutralise.

If you have someone in there offering something different, then it changes the teams dynamics when it isn't going our way.

England are currently set up to get the ball out wide and cross it in and every cunt in there is either shit with their head or are 5 feet tall, so it's pointless and no surprise that the goals have dried up.

Antonio is a far better player than you give him credit for, though I suppose it's par for the course for our fans to slag off our own players.

Alli, Lingard and especially Walcott were all poor against mediocre opposition. Walcott should have been taken off before half time. But there again Henderson and Dier were effectively playing as additional centre backs. Most of their passes were sideways and backwards, no incisive passes, no committing an opponent.
Why do they have to continually take the ball off our centre backs? Aren't the centre backs allowed to play the ball forwards?

Do we really need two holding midfield players playing a country of two million people?

I agree that Antonio is not a typical international footballer but at least he would have run at the defender. He would mis-control it sometimes, trip over his own feet once or twice, but he would beat the full back some times. Walcott didn't even try to beat his man.
